Analysing previous student videos

In class today, we watched previous student music videos and analysed them. My favourite one had to be by Poppy Power's group and their video of Florence and the Machine's Spectrum. We were given questions by our teacher;

• Who is the intended audience?

-Broad audience, not specific.

• What genre is the music?

- Indie alternative.

• Narrative/Structure?

-The girl is running in the forest

-Disjuncture

-Partly illustrative.. wolf- being hunted

• Media language?

- Filters and artificial lighting being used.

• Representation?

-The girl in the video represents her genre.

• Mark out of 40?

-I thought it would get around a 35 out of 40 (we later heard that it the top video that got really high marks and now I can see why!)
