"Too close props"

   Alex Clare uses a range of elements, elements such as sound and editing that may differ to our remake. Mise en scene is known as being the expression used to describe aspects of theatre production and film, for example the props that were exploited in “Alex Clare to close” were first class in the sense of the producers wanting to use big swords and a range of weaponry.

This may differ to our remake of “too close” as we are not g oing to employ any weaponry or designer costumes, in our remake the props will mostly be a suitcase emphasising the artist feelinga of wanting to leave his love behind and move on (this will occur when the lyrics say so I’ll be on my way), another prop that will be used will be pictures of the young couple ho lding hands clearly doing something romantic  to show the artist is reflecting on his past only thinking of the positive stuff whilst walking down a street. Other props include a newspaper, watch, ring and more.

Alex Clare uses settings that one would dream of using such as an abandoned building were these two ninjas’ are having a showdown accompanied by a range of camera shots such as a medium shots to see the body language of these fighters.  The setting was quite bright which I thought was abit of a disappointment as  I would have thought that what would make the video even better is if they at least dim the lights jut to make seem more interesting and suspicious .

Our remake of “too close” will differ from the original as we are going to set our video in a house and a range of different streets such as smith fields market or even the brick lane.. Alex Clare also uses a range of editing such as slow motions during the battle of the ninjas as well as cross cuts that take us from one scene to another.   However as we are in A2 year, we should be able to apply these two techniques to enhance our video. This is not really a difference but more of a similarity.

The lightning may show signs of differentiation as Alex Clare uses lights that are more bright and sophisticated for us this is going to be quite challenging maybe because of the setting, we have one interior (house) which I assume is dark and dingy so dark lightning is necessary and three exteriors (streets) natural lights are not necessary bright but plain and dull. However we could make it better and look attractive with the use of editing but again very difficult. We are going to use a dingy room in the scene when the artist is packing his suitcase going to leave his love.
