Outing
one
On Thursday 11th of October was our group’s first ever outing together and where else beats HMV, as we are in our teens some would expect us to be diverted with all the games and gadgets that this store has to propose. However not for group 19, we were on a mission, a mission to interview a member of staff with a series of questions on the alternative rock, soul and abit of dub –step. The following questions that we thought would make a good interview were:
1.
1. What
do expect to find in a music video that has the genre of alternative rock/soul?
2. Where
do you expect most music videos of alternative rock to be set?
3. Have
you heard of Alex Clare, if yes what do you think of his music and appearance?
4. What
props do you expect to find in an alternative rock music video?
5. What
do you do in your spare time, has it been inspired by alternative rock?
We all took part in this as I (mark)
came up with the questions and fahmida held the camera whilst the interview took
place with shumon as our interviewer as well as our location specialist. It
would have been better if marzana were here to join us as we were one short.
On Friday
12th of October was our second outing to check the sights and
improve our locations, our first location was Smithfield’s market (not to far
from barbican) we wanted to use this sight in our music video because it’s
bright, colourful and on certain days it could be used by us to an extent as
know one is there at certain times of the day. We were going to use this sight
when the main artist is busy reflecting on his past by singing and dancing
along the street whist the camera pans and tracks. Certain parts of this
location would be cut out and edited to enhance its effect to the audience. This is going to be in the location
when the artist walks by, he could lean on the wall and start to sing casually.
The most common responses that we
received for question number 4 were that the props you would see in a music
video will be smoke and a lot of instruments such as a guitar and etc. Which I
thought was true but slightly will contradict our music video in the sense that
we are not even showing instruments. The only props we are using will be a
suitcase, newspaper and bunch of photos (surely this will not have a major
impact on the audience).

Another place where we checked was
brick lane; this was going to be used again for the artist as he ponders around
in sadness and discomfort, we could have him walk past allot of graffiti(this is
why we chose it ) to show the bitterness he feels for his love.
Clown showing a sad face emphasises
the artists feeling.

We could have the artist lean in
between the arc so it looks like he is a part of the picture.

We were going to check out more
locations but as the time went by it was almost time to go back to lesson as I
was the only member in my group that did not have a day off we decide to
postpone the other locations which were Angel cannel and fahmida’s interior location, her house to another time.
