Photoshop digipak design activity

In today's lesson, we were learning how to use Photoshop and Quark. As I've never used either of them properly before, it was interesting as well as challenging. We were all given a couple of photos, which were badly taken and told to try to transform them into a CD cover, and then a poster for an ad in a magazine.

Above is the CD cover I created in lesson. I used Photoshop for the manipulation of the photograph we were given of our teacher Dan (horizontally flipped the image and added a brush stroke effect and played with the amount of light or shadow on the image), and added the title of the album as well as the text on the spine. I then imported this into Quark where I added the logos, bar code and record label logo and also the track song listings. I found that importing images and using text in Quark was a lot easier than in Photoshop as I had some difficulties when doing it in Photoshop, and then decided to do the listings in Quark.
