The street we will be filming in is Bricklane

gifBrick-lane have many art works that people for some reason are attracted to, its known as being a catchment area due to the fact that there are so many tourist around here always looking at the art work. however because of this , this could be a limitations in the sense that I really perform badly around people especially people I don't know. so I am a bit still shaky weather this is a good idea or not.

Summary of the music industry 2012

Some other points about the recent state of the music industry in 2012

Because technologies are now more developed than every before, there are now many different ways that music reaches its audiences. We now have things such as Streaming, YouTube and YouTube Converter, iTunes and a lot more that gives us more access to music. Some of these ways to access music are in fact illegal and neither the artists nor the labels receive money when these illegal means of downloading are used.

So, if more and more people are using these illegal means of downloading then this means the artists and their  labels are missing out on money therefore they would have to think of other ways to produce money. They do this either through concerts, festival appearances or through the sales of other products such as perfumes, tops, singed posters and whatever else they have to offer.

Artists could now use new technologies such as Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites to promote themselves and their music. This is an easier, cheaper and more effective way to reach larger audiences. this type of promotion would benefit the artists in independent labels the most as they do not have as much money and those in the main stream labels.

Videos that influenced my planning: Eminem- Not Afraid.

We've decided to start our music video with a long shot from the back of Marcus Green (our artist). The idea stemmed from watching my favourite artist's music video and seeing how effective it was at slowly revealing the artist at the beginning.
Our video consists of various camera shots (close ups, medium shots) and various locations also. Eminem's video 'Not Afraid' is the closest video I found that showed many similar shots we would like to replicate almost to work for our video. Here, he is walking down a busy street (we have planned to make our performer walk down a street also but less busy) whilst the camera follows him/ or he follows the camera. All the camera work is hand held or done by pulling a sort of trolley holding the camera to make it steady.
This low angle shot shows Eminem's superiority. This part of the video was done using a hand held camera I think- and if we used this type of shot in our video, it would be very appropriate and look good and flow in my opinion.

Moodboard

The mood board

The mood board that has been developed by our group is thought to illustrate the different types of ideas that we have (visually) ready for the music video of the remake of “Alex Clare to close”. You will notice that there is a picture of a suitcase accentuating the fact that this song is going to be based on the ups and downs that love offers to its people. However we were originally discussing our ideas about how the artist (protagonist) should show his emotions to his lover through conflict and confrontation which we would have cut in and out of the base-tracks to make it seem more continuant but our teacher said that its been done before and not good, it’s becoming more of a cliché, so now we are currently at the stage of still figuring out the main body of the video in the sense of what is going to be shown apart from the performance. The dingy room is going to play a very good part as one of our settings not only because it’s an interior setting but it also enables us to use it to our full potential, such as stick pictures of a couple on the wall or have some ripped chairs emphasising the stress of an individual (who knows).
